ROCK - Willis Dean Hill, 91, of Rock, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026. Born March 31, 1934, in Rock, he was the son of the late V. A. Hill and Lillian Jones Hill.

Willis served in the US Navy where he was a naval pilot and earned the rank of Lt. Junior Grade. He attended WVU, Penn State and MIT. He was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He had a very inquisitive mind and loved to "tinker' with many things including devising a new method to measure the speed of light. He was a professor at Concord College from 1958-2007. He was a lover of all types of animals.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Hill; son, Andrew Hill; grandson, Sean Hill; and brother, Lendall Hill.

His survivors include his children, James Hill and wife Marie of Princeton, and David Hill and wife Marcia of Rock; grandchildren, Katie Hill and husband Joe Klass of Morgantown, Amelia Mullens and husband Chris of Fairmont, and Andrew Hill of Austin, TX; great-granddaughter, Mary Mullens; brother, William Hill and wife Imogene of Rock; and sister-in-law, Claudia Hill of Charleston.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026 at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Retired Pastor Wayne Snider. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
