Willis “Dick” Ross Jr., age 80, of Gering, Nebraska, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Central Church of Christ in Gering with Pastor Herb Rainey officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Laramie Peak for Boy Scouts, honoring Dick's lifelong commitment to Scouting and youth development. The service will be livestreamed and recorded to Dick’s obituary page viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.

Dick was born on July 16, 1945, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Willis "Dick" Sr., a Marine Corps veteran, and Frances (Spencer) Ross. His parents owned and operated the beloved Tom & Jerry's Drive Inn in Gering, known for the famous Tasty Treat, from 1945 to 1972.

He built a life centered on faith, service, family, and community. Dick was a dedicated contractor in the construction industry and devoted over 20 years to serving the City of Gering through his work on the Planning Commission and Board of Adjustments. His greatest passion was the Boy Scouts of America, where he devoted over 50 years of volunteer service. Dick was honored with the prestigious Silver Beaver Award, one of Scouting's highest recognitions for exceptional service to youth. He was also a proud Shriner and Mason that stayed committed to serving his community through those organizations.

Dick was a devoted member of Central Church of Christ and lived his faith through service to others. He was well known for his wonderful sense of humor and love of telling jokes. Dick had a gift for bringing laughter and joy to those around him. He was an avid Huskers fan who never missed a chance to cheer on his team.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years, Monnette Ross; the proud father of two sons, Grant (Jackie Fouquet) and Jared (Kacey) Ross; and the loving grandfather of Kylie, Parker, Ethan, Loren, and Hudson Ross.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis "Dick" Sr. and Frances Ross.
