Willy Brandl

Willy Brandl, 73, of Fulton, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025, at Boone Hospital, surrounded by those he loved most.

He was born in Nurnberg, Germany, on November 5, 1951, to the late Gilbert and Margot (Hubner) Gruenefeld.

Willy found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren. He had a deep love for music, especially country and rock. A talented and passionate mechanic, Willy was known for his ability to fix just about anything with an engine and a little determination. His hard work and dedication were evident in the many years he spent with Mertens Construction, where he was respected for both his skill and his strong work ethic.

In his free time, Willy loved hunting and camping, especially at Mark Twain Lake, one of his favorite places to relax and make cherished memories with friends and family.

Those who remain to cherish Willy's memory include his sons, Nick Brandl (Erika) and Wade Brandl; daughter, Tara Vandeloecht (Matt); grandchildren, Trenton Brandl (Chrisee), Devin Brandl (Sharon), Emmalyn Brandl and Hudson Brandl, and two great-grandchildren, Marren Brandl and Harrison Brandl.

He was preceded in death by his parents and great-grandchild, Mabel Brandl.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Maupin Funeral Home on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
