Wilma Deloris, 85, of Choctaw, Oklahoma died October 15, 2021. She was born on March 6, 1936 in Beardstown, Illinois to Monroe and Majorie Self. She was extremely witty and we will never forget all of her "Wilma-isms." She loved singing old hymns, with her saying, "I might not sing good, but I always sing loud." She worked as a Care Giver, serving for Mobil Meals at St. Matthews Methodist Church up until the day of her passing. She cherished all the relationships formed there. Wilma also enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, and long phone calls. Wilma also had a love for her church and was a faithful member of Charity Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children Kenneth Hendon and wife Ronda of Galesburg, Illinois; Tonua Hulette and husband Ron of Choctaw, Oklahoma; Ben Hendon of Choctaw, Oklahoma; brothers Wayne Self of San Diego, California, Bill Self and wife Sandra of Indianapolis, Indiana; and fifteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Tommy Hendon; parents Majorie and Monroe Self; sons John Thomas Hendon (Jack), Larry Hendon and Tommy James Hendon (Jim); granddaughter Cassandra Hendon; and great granddaughter Zoey Hendon Arnold.
Visitation will be held from 8:00am to 8:00pm on Friday, October 22, 2021 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Charity Freewill Baptist Church with interment to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
