Wilma Theresa (Politte) Kernan, beloved mother, sister, and friend, departed this life on March 12th, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. The daughter of the late Earl Politte and Lillie (Boyer) Politte. Wilma was born on July 9th, 1941, in Bliss, Missouri, Wilma was a gentle spirit whose kindness and love resonated deeply with everyone she met.
Wilma was united in marriage to the late Patrick Kernan Sr. on August 11th, 1962.
Wilma is survived by her two sons, Patrick Kernan Jr. and wife Debra of Phoenix, Arizona, and Jason Kernan and wife Deena of Valencia, California: daughter Roxanna Kernan-Palmer and husband Kenneth of Troy, Illinois, and nine grandchildren: Josh, Brady, Kumi, Tucker, Lillie, Alexa, Ashley, Hunter, and Caleb Jack. Wilma is also survived by her beloved sisters, Joan Kincaid of Old Mines, Missouri, Sandy Swift and husband Danny of Potosi, Missouri; sisters-in-law Rachel Politte of Cadet, Missouri, Rosemary Phillips of Mesa, Arizona, and Arleen Brewster of Houston, Texas. Additionally, she leaves behind her brothers-in-law Thomas Kernan of Imperial, Missouri, Donald Kernan and wife Joyce of Farmington, Missouri, Clyde H. Gillam of Cadet, Missouri, and John Kernan of Brownsburg, Indiana.
Wilma is preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Kernan Sr.; her sisters Hazel Pinson and Jan Gillam; her brothers Robert "Bob" Politte, Kenneth Politte, and Ronnie Politte. Their memories remain alive in the hearts of her family and friends.
Wilma enjoyed camping, bowling, and other fun hobbies; she regularly served her community as a volunteer for St. Joseph Parish. Wilma also enjoyed laughter; she had a great sense of humor.
As we remember Wilma, we celebrate a life devoted to her family. Her kind heart and unwavering spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
