Wilma Lea Porter McConnaughhay, 79, of Beebe, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2024.  She was born September 7, 1944, to the late Henry F. and Leachel Selvidge Porter.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Larry McConnaughhay, and her sister-in-law Bonita Porter.   

 

She resided with her family in Cabot for thirty-nine years prior to moving to Beebe, and she served the Cabot Public School system as a secretary for 23 years.  

 

She is survived by her 2 children Sandra McConnaughhay Merrow (Steve) and son Johnie McConnaughhay (Crystal); five grandchildren, Taylor Woodfield (Landon), Drew Merrow (Hannah), McKayla Merrow, Connor McConnaughhay, Ella McConnaughhay; and a great grandson Landry Woodfield.  She is also survived by brothers Windle Porter, Randolph Porter (Sue), and Jimmy Porter (Donna), brother in-law Ricky McConnaughhay (Wanda), and host of nieces and nephews.   

 

Family visitation will be 6-8 pm Friday, January 26, and a celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 27, all at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W Dewitt Henry, Beebe, Arkansas.  Interment will follow at Dogwood Cemetery, Griffithville.
