Wilma Nance Miles, 88, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the Owensboro Place Nursing Home. Born in Daviess County on April 7, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Doss and Laura Nance; was a homemaker; and a member of St Stephen Cathedral. Mrs. Miles enjoyed spending time with her family and working crossword puzzles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Lee Miles in 1995; a daughter, Connie Fowler in 2002; a granddaughter, Kelly Ambs in 1990; and grandsons, Richard Miles, II in 2006 and Steven Miles in 1982.
Surviving are sons, John Miles, Jr. and Gary Miles of Owensboro and Richard (Suzanne) Miles of Midlothian, TX; daughter, Linda (Pete) Ambs of Utica, Toni (Bob) Pride of Pleasant Ridge, and Cathy Ambs (Chuck Snyder) of Hawesville; grandchildren, Trenton Miles, Tabatha Ambs, Tiffany O'Bryan, Travis Jones, Kris Lanham, Tammy Murphy, John Miles, III, David Miles, Brandy Miles, Jenny Hamilton, Bonnie Cunningham, Scott Miles, and Mark Fowler; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gutherie Nance of Hartford.
Services are 10 A.M. Friday, July 30, 2010 in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Father Brandon Williams officiating followed by burial in Brushy Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday and after 9 a.m. on Friday.
Expressions of symapthy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky.
