Wilma Nelson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lewis Funeral Homes & Crematory - Milton Chapel on Jan. 2, 2026.
Wilma Voncile Nelson entered peacefully into the arms of her heavenly Father on December 28, 2025. She was born on May 5, 1936, in Point Washington, Florida to her parents John Wesley White and Mamie Barton.
Wilma was a devout Christian and expressed her unending love for Jesus to anyone she could. She was very small in stature (just under 5ft. tall), and always presented herself with integrity, gentleness, and kindness to everyone she encountered. She had a passion for caring for her family and would spend every moment she could with her loved ones. Wilma also loved to fish, eat raw oysters, and sit out on her patio, reading her daily devotion while watching hummingbirds feed by her window.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life since December 6, 1952, William Roy Nelson; her only son, William Jeffery "Jeff" Nelson; son-in-law, Edward Floyd; granddaughter, Melonie Lenzo; brothers: Rex White, John White and Buford White; and sisters: Vela Crutchfield, Mildred Gainey, and Elizabeth (Liz) Griffin.
She is survived by her only daughter, Deborah Floyd; grandson, William (Belinda) Sutton; granddaughters, Brooke Nelson, Ashley (John) Pettis, and Nancy (Danny) Richardson; 8 great-grandchildren, Timothy (Kayla) Sutton, Sarah Sutton (Joey Snellgrove), Brittany (James) Barnes, Adrian (Connor) Prescott Kiptyn Pettis, Rafe Pettis, Danna Richardson, and Jillian Richardson (Zac Boone); 7 great-great grandchildren, Bristol, Emberleigh, Ragan, Haislee, Lila, Lily, and Cash; brother, Tommy (Jeris White); and sister, Inez (Eddie) Kent, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel, 6405 Highway 90 W, Milton, Florida 32570, with visitation from 12:00-1:00 p.m. and service at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Donald Leavins Officiating. Interment will be at Serenity Gardens.
