Wilma Ann (Kloss) Veerhusen
Wilma Ann (Kloss) Veerhusen, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Friday January 26, 2024. She was 72 years of age.
Wilma was born on February 1, 1951, in Corydon, Iowa, the daughter of Harry “DeVere” and Bernice (West) Kloss. She graduated high school in 1969 and on May 17th, 1969, she wed Kenneth Veerhusen. Two children were born from this union.
Wilma was a fashionista and enjoyed shopping, baking with her grandchildren, crafting, traveling with her husband Ken and going on girls’ trips with her best friends. Known for decorating for each season and holiday, Wilma had a great eye for just the right touch. She liked indulging in reality tv, going to the movies and tending to her landscaping and garden. Wilma’s very favorite thing though, was her family, spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and her sisters, she enjoyed hosting sleep overs with her grandchildren and raising her two fur babies Coco and Kiwi. Supporting, kind, loving and a mother to all, Wilma will be deeply missed.
Wilma is survived by her husband of 54 years, Kenneth Veerhusen; children, Stacey (Dusty) Andersen, Nick (Catherine) Veerhusen; grandchildren, Joshua (Hayley) Faley, Matthew Faley, Ayriana Veerhusen, Easton Diffey, Baleigh Diffey, Jaxson Veerhusen; great granddaughter, Evelyn Faley; sisters, Linda Edwards, Nancy Crotts; many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, DeVere and Bernice Kloss; brothers, Don and Larry Kloss.
Cremation is planned with a memorial service to take place May 18th, 2024, at IBEW Union Hall 1211 Wiley BLVD SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Family will greet guest between the hours of 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm, with lunch being provided between 12:30 - 2:30 pm.
