Wilson Paul Guidry, born July 27, 1954, was a lifelong resident of Breaux Bridge, where he was born, raised, and deeply rooted in the community he loved. Wilson passed away surrounded by the love of his family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, hard work, and unforgettable memories.

Wilson was a true outdoorsman at heart. He found peace in the woods and along the water, spending countless hours hunting and fishing. Whether it was early mornings in a deer stand or casting a line before sunrise, those moments brought him joy and stories he loved to share.

He was a proud supporter of local traditions, especially Friday night football in Breaux Bridge. You could find him in the stands blowing his horn by the end zone cheering on the team, or helping to coach in the stands. On Thursdays, he was often behind the scenes cooking for the players - making sure they were well fed and ready for the game. Serving others, especially the kids in his community, meant a great deal to him.

Wilson also had special talents in the kitchen and garden. He loved cooking for family and friends, bringing everyone together over a good meal. His homegrown peppers for homemade chow chow was a favorite, and he was known for making his own moonshine - a craft he perfected and proudly shared with those close to him. His home was always a place of good food, good company, and plenty of laughter.

More than anything, Wilson cherished his family and his friends. He valued time spent together, whether around a dinner table, at a football game, out in the woods, at the camp, or sitting outside swapping stories. His presence was steady, generous, and full of heart.

He will be remembered for his strong spirit, his love of the outdoors, his dedication to his community, and the way he made everyone feel welcome. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Allemand Guidry; son, Cy Guidry (Stacie) of Breaux Bridge; daughter, Tessie Guidry - Duhon (Bucky) of Carencro; grandchildren, Logan Guidry, Skyler Guidry, Bliss Guidry, all of Breaux Bridge, Emma Duhon and Lowell Duhon, both of Idaho; brother, Russell Guidry (Kathy) of Breaux Bridge; father-in-law, Edrick "Pete" Allemand of Breaux Bridge; brother-in-law, Ronald Boudreaux (Sharon) of Catahoula; sister-in-law, Marella A. Delahoussaye of Breaux Bridge; uncle, Jimmy Guidry (Jeanette) of Coteau Holmes; and his "grand-doggers", Daisy Mae and Elsie Bell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Murphy and Bunice Knott Guidry; sisters, Fable Guidry Boudreaux and Helen Guidry Boudreaux; mother-in-law, Lucille Frederick Allemand; brothers-in-law, Tony Allemand and Kaven Delahoussaye; and his special friends, Lennis "Chute" Huval and Marcel "Butch" Hebert.

Pallbearers will be Cy Guidry, Logan Guidry, Bucky Duhon, Lowell Duhon, Barry Boudreaux, Aaron Guidry, and Shane Delahoussaye.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Doctors Debra Durham, Victoria Panelli, Bose Cheeran, Justin Fontenot, and their staffs, as well as Hospice of Acadiana, for the care, concern, and compassion given to Wilson. Also, many thanks to his family and friends for the constant love and support during his last four years.
