Wilson Duane "Duane" Love

Wilson Duane Love - known to all who loved him simply as Duane - passed away peacefully surrounded by family. A devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, Duane lived a life marked by quiet strength, steady compassion, and an unwavering love for those closest to him.

Born on August 8, 1952, Duane lived in Lawson, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his sister, his parents, and his beloved son, Christopher Love. Chris' memory remained a steadfast presence throughout the remainder of his life.

Duane is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Rebecca Love, his partner in all things and the love of his life. He is also survived by his son, Eric Love and Valerie Kush, and his daughter, Shauna Young and spouse, Christopher Young. His family was the foundation of his happiness, and he remained deeply proud of each of them.

A proud grandfather, Duane's greatest joys were his grandchildren, Kash, Kade, Kenzy, Zay Kane, Ellie, Trizten, Riley and Mya. Duane cheered on his grandkids at every opportunity, was endlessly silly with them, and always had a funny nickname ready - making each child feel uniquely treasured. To them, he wasn't just their grandfather; he was the best "Poppa Love" ever.

Duane loved fishing; which he often did with family or friends.

Duane was a professional painter all his life. He owned and operated his own painting company, taking great pride in his craftsmanship and the relationships he built through his work. Known for his skill, attention to detail, and unmatched finish work, Duane was often praised for doing the best lacquer around. His dedication to his trade earned him respect throughout the community.

A man with a kind heart and a gentle soul, Duane brought comfort and warmth wherever he went.

Duane will be forever missed and always remembered.

A visitation to honor Duane's life will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Old Country Church, located at 2488 SE Hwy 33, Lathrop, MO 64465. A short ceremony will follow to honor his memory. After the ceremony, family and friends are welcome to gather, share stories, and find comfort in one another.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests contributions to help support Duane's burial fund. Donations can be mailed directly to the family, received at visitation or electronically via venmo or paypal.
