Winfred (Papa) J. Richards, age 72 of Jasper, Georgia passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025, at his home. Known for his strong work ethic, and unwavering dedication to his family, Winfred leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and service. For 30 years, Winfred worked as a structural ironworker, contributing to countless construction projects and was a part of the Iron Workers Local 387. He coached baseball for many years, imparting not only the skills of the game but also the importance of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship to the young athletes he mentored. His impact on their lives was immeasurable, and his lessons went far beyond the baseball field. Winfred was a long-time member of Providence Church of Milton, Georgia, where he found strength in his faith. He was also a proud member of the Alpharetta Masonic Lodge #235, where he forged lifelong friendships built on trust and mutual respect.
