Beloved wife of the late Robert F. Rhodes. Cherished daughter of the late Aloysius and Winifred Tack. Devoted sister of Patricia (Peter) Larcher.
Loving mother of Jacqueline Roodnat, Winnie (Matthew) Murphy, the late Robert A. (the late Sharon), Deborah (Linas) Mitkus, the late baby Jimmy, Michael (Nancy), Nancy (Kevin) Gill, and Robert P. (Carol).
Proud grandmother of Jesse, Matthew, Lauren, Lindsey, Rachel, Justin, Jennifer, Christina, Lindsey, Stephen, Allison, Mickey, Megan, Kevin, Christopher, Shannon, Sam, and their families. Adored great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Born on September 20, 1937, Winnie Rhodes was truly one of a kind. She lived her life with a joyful spirit, a playful sense of humor, and an unwavering devotion to her family. Known for her ability to bring people together, she was the steady center of the family-organized, protective, supportive, and always ready to step in with love and purpose.
"Mom/Grandma" met life's challenges with remarkable faith and resilience. Her strength, compassion, and commitment left a lasting impression on all those fortunate enough to know her. Even in her later years, she fought with courage to stay with those she loved and to make every moment count.
Winnie passed peacefully on November 24, 2025, surrounded by family who loved her deeply and who take comfort in knowing she is at peace.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Our Lady at St. Germaine Catholic Church (9711 S. Kolin Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453). Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM, followed by Mass at 11:00 AM. Private interment with her husband at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery to follow. The family is grateful for your thoughts and prayers during this time.
