As I wanted to prepare to attend your home going celebration I could feel the depth of your life upon my life I could not do it yet [also on jury duty]. Maybe I just want to remember you as I saw you the last time when you put some love and light into my hardest day. She has been a beacon light for so many myself included it is amazing to have known her with highest regards I say I loved her and the last time I saw her will burn across my heart forever. In life even when we know earthly life is not permanent a child always wants their parent. It's hard to let go and it's hard to let go of those who have shined so bright. I know where you reside now and I can just see your smile for I know that you are in great company especially the reunion with your love. For family and friends let this be a day of peace and ease at all times remember the good times find the laughter of her life, tell the good stories take the light of her life and carry it with you at all times. Be brave this is a bittersweet day of which time does not heal it just makes it different. I love you Iris it's just too soon for me as much as I wanted to honor her with my presence yet mom's anniversary of transition is coming up and Daddy's just was a couple of weeks ago emotionally I am ultra sensitive and unsound. At any time you need me just find me I will be there for you.

Waters Family,

It is with deep sympathy that I extend my condolences to you all. While I am saddened by your loss, I rejoice in the beauty of her soul, her story made my heart smile.

I trust that God will comfort and strengthen each one of you. And, what a blessing for her to be rejoined with her love, both present now with our Savior Jesus Christ.

I am greatly saddened by the death of Mama Waters. She was a beautiful spirit who showed love and compassion to me from the moment we met. I pray that God will hold and comfort you all as only He can. There is peace and joy in knowing that, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. She is residing in a Heavenly home now. The great memories of a life well lived will always remain with you. Find comfort in the abiding love and legacy that is eternal.

To The Waters Family:

I am Robert Turner, a retired Captain from the Miami Fire Department, and I too share your loss. I will never forget Mrs. Waters and the incredible role that she fulfilled in paving the way for me and all the other black firefighters who followed her husband as firefighters with the Miami Fight Department. As a firefighter, it was indeed a high honor and a very special moment in my career when she presented me with the Willie Waters Memorial Award, at a Professional Black Fire Fighters Recognition Banquet. Most importantly, please know that I am praying for your entire family during this period of transition. May you be strengthened and blessed during this season of transition.

With deepest sympathy,
Robert Turner (Retired Captain, Miami Fire Department)

My heart is sad, but the angel's are rejoicing, well done good and faithful servant. I met sister waters and Historic Mt. Zion Baptist Church in 1974, we all sang in the choir what a wonderful Christian. I now live in Akron Ohio, May God bless you all.
