Winset Webb Obituary
Winset Samuel "Sam" Webb, age 89, of Pleasureville, Ky., passed away on Sunday Feb. 15, 2026, in New Albany, Ind.
Sam taught for more than 30 years as a teacher and principal, at the elementary level, Job Corp. of Shelbyville and the Kentucky State Reformatory. In his free time, he loved to garden and fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Clellie Webb; his siblings, Bertie Mae Eads, Pauline Chavez, Mary Cinnamon, William Webb, James Webb and David Webb; and his nephew Sammy Allen Webb.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Linda Webb of Pleasureville; his stepsons, Mark and Matthew Caldwell both of Pleasureville; his sisters Betty J. Webb and Linda Hilliard; his sister-in-law, Dixie Webb; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, at the Shannon Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at the Grove Hill Cemetery, in Shelbyville.
Expressions of sympathy may be made out to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter, Kaden Tower, 6100 Dutchmans LN STE 401, Louisville KY 40205-3284.
