Winston Roberts Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory - Ball on Dec. 30, 2025.
Mr. Winston Kent Roberts, age 76, entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 27, 2025, in Alexandria at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation for Mr. Winston will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the GA Mangun Center from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Bishop Anthony Mangun and Pastor Gentry Mangun officiating. Interment will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery in Pollock, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Eva Sasser Roberts; and brothers, Harry "Cuz" Roberts, Jr. and Barkley Roberts.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 54 years, Charline Durand Roberts; niece and nephews, Errol Roberts (Chasity), Ken Roberts (Tamara), and Cheryl Welch (Reggie); and numerous great nieces and nephews, family, and friends.
Mr. Winston was a loving husband, uncle, and friend. Winston was a devoted public servant, passionate real estate professional, and a cherished presence in his community. He found true joy in selling real estate, taking pride not just in closing deals, but in helping families discover homes where their lives could unfold. His work was personal, thoughtful, and guided by a genuine care for people.
Winston served on the Grant Parish Police Jury District 6, where he was known for being dependable, approachable, and deeply committed to the needs of his district. Neighbors knew they could count on him to listen, to help, and to follow through-always with sincerity and respect. He was a gifted storyteller, Winston had a remarkable memory for details and a natural sense of humor that brought his stories to life. Whether recalling local history or sharing a moment from everyday life, he had a way of making people laugh and feel connected.
Winston will be remembered for his service, his kindness, and the warmth he brought to every conversation. His legacy lives on in the homes he helped build, the people he served, and the stories that will continue to be told.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Grant Parish Animal Control 485 Richardson Dr. Colfax, LA 71417 or to Clear Creek Cemetery Association c/o Trenda Bordelon at 264 Ferguson Loop, Pollock, LA 71467.

My wife Sonia and I offer our prayers and condolences to Miss Charline, whom we´ve never met, but heard about each and everytime we met with or talked with Winston. I met Winston in college and immediately knew I had met a remarkable human being . He touched me in so many ways since our first encounters up to and including his giving his life over to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I´ve never met or saw Winston, that he and I both met and left each others company, grinning from ear to ear. I know how much I will miss him and cannot even imagine how much his family and close friends will miss him. I can only offer my prayers and know and thank God Almighty that Winston Roberts was a part of my life. I know he sits with his Heavenly Father today and forever more. I love and miss you my brother and miss you as one of the best air Saxophone players ever.

"Winnie" and I attended NSU together in the late 60's and played basketball on the "Peacock" team. We had a longtime friendship that I will miss. Bless Winnie and the family.
