Woodrow Wilson Silver, Jr., born on March 21, 1942, departed this world on March 25, 2025. He leaves behind a rich legacy that speaks to the many lives he touched throughout his journey.
In his remarkable career as a truck driver spanning over three decades, Woodrow demonstrated an unwavering dedication and exceptional skill on the road. His commitment was recognized with the prestigious One Million Miles Award, which he proudly earned not once, but twice. This award is given to truck drivers who travel one million miles without receiving a ticket or being in an accident. This achievement reflects not only his professionalism but also his steadfast reliability.
Beyond his career, Woodrow had a vibrant personality and fostered many friendships throughout his life. He was a constant presence in the outdoors, living an active lifestyle that brought him joy. In addition to his love for nature, he held a particular affection for games of chance, often indulging in scratch-off tickets. His luck favored him generously, with remarkable winnings of $10,000 on three separate occasions. He also served as a Mason.
Woodrow was not just a man of hobbies; he was a devoted father who shaped the lives of his children. His lasting impact is evident in his daughter, Cynthia McDonald (Christian), and son, Larry Silver (Brenda), who carry forth his values and teachings. He was also a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren cherishing the memories they created together.
He is survived by his loving brother, Perry Silver, and sister, Carole Silver, who will remember him fondly. Woodrow also joins his parents, Woodrow Wilson Silver Sr. and Pauline Bowman Silver, as well as his sister, Paula Silver, and son, Michael Silver, in eternal rest.
