Woody Scaffe Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ivie Funeral Home (Home Office) - Murphy on Feb. 13, 2026.
Woody Scaffe Jr. 49, of Murphy, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at his home. He was a native of Darlington, South Carolina and worked alongside his dad at R.E. Goodson's Construction for many years. He then moved to Murphy in 2018 where he worked and managed several fast-food restaurants. Woody was most recently working at Wal-Mart as the lead electronics expert and Straight Talk representative. He was a member of Murphy Church of Christ where he helped with the sound system and the cell phone program for those in need. Woody was a devoted Clemson fan and enjoyed fishing. He was selfless and helped many in need get back on their feet. His knowledge of electronics led him to help people with phones, electronics and appliances. He was a teddy bear and will be greatly missed.

He was the son of the late Woodrow Allen Sr. and Gracie Hall Scaffe. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents who raised him Raymond and Mary Scaffe and his maternal grandparents Lonnie and Frances Hall; and two aunts, Bonnie Watford, Mary Steptoe; and one uncle, James Hall.

Surviving are his loving wife of twenty six years, Mindi Scaffe of Murphy; two sisters, Christina Ruthven and husband, Henry of Marble, and Tay Rathbone of Marion, Norh Carolina; two nephews, Hunter Rathbone and Zayden Rathbone; four aunts, Shirley Hicks, Voncille Moore, Joyce Tucker, Conne Hall-Nesbitt and wife, Amanda; he is also survived by many cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be at 4:00 PM Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Murphy Church of Christ with the Reverend Roy Stephenson officiating.
