Obituary of Wyatt Andrew Cunningham
Wyatt Andrew Cunningham passed away after losing his battle with his mental health, in Coeur D' Alene, Idaho on October 17, 2023. Wyatt was born in Twin Falls, Idaho to Matthew Cunningham and Julie Collette. As a child he attended schools in Twin Falls, Burley, & Meridian. He graduated from Meridian Academy during the COVID 19 pandemic in 2020. Wyatt worked various jobs as a teen and young adult; Reed's Dairy, Intrinsic Organics, Amazon, & Allied Universal Security.
When Wyatt was young, he was involved in theatre with Jump Co. and other local theatre classes in Meridian. As he grew older, he served in the local Naval Sea Cadet Corps unit in Boise from 2016 – 2020. He was the first cadet to ever achieve the rank of Chief Petty Officer, in the local unit. During his high school years, he was able to go on many youth military trainings across the United States and was also selected by "merit" to attend the International Exchange in England. Only Wyatt and 2 other cadets were selected to travel to England for two weeks and serve with other cadets from around the world. He also loved all things history, politics, art, travel, and museums. He also enjoyed writing his own books and poetry. He called it bibliotherapy.
On August 14, 2021, he married Jordyn Wilson and became a father to his only son, Kevin Henry, later that year. They were the loves of his life. He adored his little boy and loved him very much! And Jordyn was his best friend and support throughout the last few years of his life. She was there for him, no matter how hard the daily struggles were. He loved all of his friends and family, and enjoyed making them laugh.
Most recently, he was living in Orofino, Idaho and going to school online at the University of Idaho. He was so proud to be going to school and working on his Organizational Sciences, with a Business minor degree. At the time of his passing, he was a straight A student.
Wyatt is survived by his wife, Jordyn Cunningham and their son, Kevin Cunningham, parents, Julie & (Joe) Collette, & Matthew Cunningham, his in laws, Donnie & Jami Wilson, maternal grandparents, Norlyn "Mike" Fikstad, and Rebecca Fikstad, paternal grandparents Linda & (Jim) Robinson, step grandparents Marlene & Rudy Reynosa, half-sister Hannah Horner-Donerkiel and half-brother, Brendan Miller (Cunningham), step brother, Jareth Collette, sister in law, Kelsey Wilson, two nephews, Briar Donerkiel, Van Collette, one niece, Mea Kraemer (Collette), Uncle Josh Leyvas, Aunt & Uncle Cindi & (Carl) Nunn, Great Aunt, Susan Kinney, Great Uncle James & (Denise) Wardle, along with several other cousins and extended family members. And last but not least, his beloved tabby cat, Felix.
He is preceded in death by his oldest sister, Janessa Horner (Cunningham), and Uncles Mark Fikstad & Michael Fikstad.
A viewing for friends and family will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023 from 9:30 - 11:30 am at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 am.
Family and friends are encouraged to come by Julie & Joe's house, to eat and share memories of Wyatt, following the funeral. Cremated remains will be entombed at a later date, in Twin Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the local Black Sheep – Naval Sea Cadet Unit, in memory of Wyatt. A special fund to assist other cadets to travel & attend nationwide youth military trainings will be established in Wyatt's honor. A donation box will be at the funeral home.
