After 9/11 the church my mother brought us to had put up a Christmas tree decorated with all the names of those fallen. We all chose one to take to pray for the name on it. I chose Xavier's name and put the heart shaped paper cutout on the fridge where it stayed for many years. Every year since then I watch the names being read to hear his. I've done research and know more about him now, and I wanted to let his family know in my heart I treat him like an uncle or cousin I never met but will never forget.

To the family of Xavier Suarez, I am the daughter of one of Xavier's coworkers, and had the pleasure of knowing your loved one. Although I was only 9 when this tragedy happened I do remember knowing Xavier and he playing with me as a young child. I remember when he would sit me on his lap at parties or at company get togethers. He was always a sweet warm-hearted individual and it is in this manner that I will always remember you. May you rest in peace Xavier, you and the thousands of innocent souls that parished and had their lives cut short on that fateful September morning. You will forever be in my prayers.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
