Mrs. Yanjun Tian, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully in her home in Boynton Beach, Florida, on August 25, 2025, at the age of 54. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Gang Quan, and her two daughters, Joy Tianlin Quan and Cathy Tianlu Quan.
Yanjun was born in Cangzhou, Hebei, China, on February 10, 1971. She often joked that as the youngest of three children and the only daughter, she was always given the best at her older brothers' expense. Growing up, she excelled in school and was consistently at the top of her class. She attended Renmin University from August 1988 to July 1994, earning both her BA and MA degrees in Economics. After a brief career in Beijing, she decided she wanted something more. In August 1996, she moved to the United States to pursue her Ph.D. in Economics at North Carolina State University, completing her degree in 2003. It was during this time that she found God, crediting Him with helping her through a tumultuous period and granting her lasting peace.
On January 10, 1998, she received a phone call from a young man who would later become her husband. They fell in love through phone conversations and letters. Two months after that first call, they met in person for the first time, and one month later-just three months after first knowing each other-they were married.
In 2000, Yanjun began her professional career in the United States as a financial analyst at Williams Energy in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where the couple's first daughter, Joy, was born in January 2001. In 2002, the family relocated to Columbia, South Carolina, where their second daughter, Cathy, was born in May 2003. Beginning in July 2004, Yanjun continued her career as a financial analyst at SCANA Corporation. In 2009, Yanjun and her family moved to South Florida, where they have lived ever since. She joined NextEra Energy as a senior financial analyst and was later promoted to principal financial analyst, a role she held with dedication until the end of her career. Throughout her professional journey, Yanjun was widely respected for her exceptional productivity, responsibility, and reliability.
Yanjun maintained an unshakable faith in God throughout her adult life and was a devoted member of her church. At home, she was the cornerstone who held the family together. She displayed unwavering love for her husband and children-something they came to cherish as second nature. Always generous and caring, she was quick to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
In January 2022, Yanjun was diagnosed with colon cancer. Even then, she continued to live with faith in God and selfless love for others. Through numerous treatments and harsh side effects, she carried herself with grace and quiet strength. Even during times of severe illness, rapid weight loss, and sleepless nights due to pain, she never complained or questioned God. Instead, she thanked Him for allowing her to live in the world He created and found beauty in everyday life-tending to her plants, walking with her husband when she was able, talking with her children, and treasuring every moment spent with her family.
Now that she has departed, Yanjun will forever be remembered by her family and by the countless lives she touched.
