Yolanda L. Cavazos, a cherished member of the Kingsville, Texas community, passed away on March 25, 2024, in her hometown. She was 86 years old.
Yolanda was born on July 15, 1937, in Kingsville, Texas, the daughter of Jose Lomas and Julia Garcia. Growing up in Kingsville, she cultivated a strong sense of community and family values that would shape her life.
Throughout her career, Yolanda dedicated herself to serving others as a unit clerk at Christus Spohn Hospital Kleberg, where her warmth and dedication left a lasting impression on colleagues and patients alike.
Yolanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert Cavazos Jr., and her dear brother, Severo "Sam" Garcia. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will be forever cherished by her family and friends.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael (Melody) Cavazos of San Antonio, and Robert A. (Imelda) Cavazos of Harlingen, and her four daughters, Elizabeth Diane (Fred) Garza of Midland, Sandra Ann (Arnold) Rodriguez of Corpus Christi, Carla (Jorge) Sanchez of Kingsville, and Delia "Dee Dee" (Alex†) Olivarez of Ricardo. She is also survived by her brother, Alfredo "Tito" Garcia, her sisters, Graciela Cavazos, Mary Alice Vela, and Vilma Deases, along with nineteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and her beloved dog, Molly.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in honor of Yolanda on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin Catholic Church with Father Alfredo Villarreal officiating.
Following the Funeral Mass, Yolanda will be laid to rest at Chamberlain Cemetery, where she will find eternal peace.
Yolanda's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family. May she rest in peace, knowing she was dearly loved and will never be forgotten.
