Yolanda Salgado

SALGADO, Yolanda Yobbi, 88, died November 26, 2007. She was born on October 22, 1919 in Abruzzi, Italy to parents Ercole and Angelina Yobbi. She immigrated to this country through Ellis Island and lived in Pittsburgh, PA and then Tampa. She served in the Women's Army Corps and attended the University of Tampa. She was a Founder and First President of Anita Garibaldi Lodge and a Founder of the Mona Lisa Lodge, a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Italian Culture Club and Beta Sigma Sorority. Yolanda is survived by her sister, Marguerite Blood, son, John Salgado; daughter, Jeanne Salgado; granddaughter, Erica Lagasse ( Robert ); grandson, Jayson Smith ( Jennifer ); great granddaughters, Samantha and Lauren Lagasse and great grandson Ethan Smith; and many nieces and nephews in Tampa and Pittsburgh. She is predeceased by her parents and eight brothers and sisters. Friends and family may visit at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home 4207 E. Lake Ave. Tampa on Thursday, November 29, 2007 from 6- 8 PM and a funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 AM with entombment following at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
