Yolanda Scott Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boston Cremation - Malden Care Center on Jan. 16, 2026.
Yolanda Scott was born on Sept. 28, 1973 to Michael Henry and the late Inell Scott, in Boston Ma. In her youth Yolanda was a member of St. John Baptist church, where she received Christ at an early age. She was an active member, and a youth Sunday school teacher. Yolanda also known as "YO" played basketball as a forward at Lexington High School. She graduated there in 1992, and went on to Oklahoma State College.

Yolanda worked at Bank of America, formally known as Bank of Boston. She also worked at Footlocker and BestBuy before she began her 20 plus years at National Grid were she retired on August 1, 2024.

Yo, loves sports and her favorite teams was her hometown teams. She's one of the this biggest Boston fans I ever seen. Yolanda's love for life was legendary. She was the only person who could tell a joke with a punchline you'd heard a dozen times and still have you laughing. Yolanda had a presence that could light up any room. Known for her booming voice, quick wit, and generous heart, Yo, never met a stranger she didn't try to make laugh.

Yo was someone everyone loved. She was outgoing, adventurous, stubborn, but kind, with a rare openness that made everyone feel welcome. Always saying yes, always showing up, and she wore her heart on her sleeve. She faced unimaginable challenges with courage and heart, and her legacy will live on through the lives she touched.

Yolanda leaves on this earth to cherish her memories her father Michael Henry, her sisters Betty Raye-Wade and Shirley Deberry. Her brothers Bobby Williams and Michael Henry Jr. Her nieces, nephews, Godchildren and a host of friends.

Yolanda was preceded in death by her mother Inell Scott, her brother Jerry Deberry, and her nephew Trey Deberry.
