Born on August 14th 1966 in Temple, TX, Yolonda was raised by her mother, Jimmie Evelyn Smith. She grew up in Temple and graduated from Temple High School in 1984.
Yolonda was a devoted mother, pouring her heart and soul into raising her children with love, wisdom, and unwavering support. Her nurturing spirit and endless patience were the guiding light for her family, and her legacy of compassion and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Yolonda was a proud 7 year veteran in the U.S. Army, becoming an Iraqui War Veteran. Throughout her life, Yolonda found joy in simple pleasures, from her passion for fashion to sharing laughter with friends and family. Yolonda was an avid shopper with a keen sense of style and grace. Where ever there was a bargain you could rest assured she'd be there. Yolonda loved r&b music and was never shy about showing how much soul she had. She loved the sport of basketball. Yolonda played for the Tem-cat varsity basketball team during her years at Temple High School & was a passionate fan of the San Antonio Spurs. One her most cherished hobbies was walks in the park with her daughter and grandson right by her side.
In addition to her role as a loving mother, Yolonda was a cherished friend and confidante to many. Her door was always open, and her gentle presence brought comfort to all who knew her. Her warmth and generosity knew no bounds, and she always put the needs of others before her own.
Yolonda is survived by her devoted mother, Jimmie Evelyn Smith. Her children Darren, Elijah, Essence Countiss, & grandson, Dru Countiss. brothers, Edward Chestnut, Rico Fairley. Grandson, Dru Countiss. Sister in law Sharon Fairley. Niece & nephew, Bria and Brayden Fairley.
