In Loving Memory of Mr. Yong-ho Shin Mr. Yong-ho Shin was born on January 3, 1943, in Gongju, Chungcheongnam-do, as the youngest of three sons and three daughters. He passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, at the age of 82.
Mr. Shin lost his father when he was young. He spent his early years in his hometown, then moved to Seoul with his oldest brother to find new opportunities. In 1964, he joined the military and served in the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1967. After returning from service, he worked in Vietnam for Hanjin from 1967 to 1969.
In December 1969, he married Ms. Sam-ran Yoo and became a devoted husband and father to one son and two daughters. In 1988, he immigrated to the United States with his family, settling in Northern Virginia. He was later blessed with four granddaughters and three grandsons. A skilled and hardworking carpenter, Mr. Shin worked until 2024, building and repairing homes while providing steadfast love and support to his family and extended community.
He was known for his kind heart and active role in his community. He enjoyed helping others and made many good friends. He especially cared about supporting Korean Vietnam War veterans in the U.S., and worked hard to make sure they were treated fairly.
We send our deepest sympathy to his family. We remember and honor the life of a caring, hardworking, and generous man. May he rest in peace.
