Yong Eui Kim, age 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 1, 2023. Mr. Kim – a dedicated husband, father of five, and grandfather of five - was born in South Korea on May 8th, 1937, and provided for his children working in South Korea, Germany, and the United States.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Young Hee Kim. With the support of his loving wife, Mr. Kim built a prosperous and purpose-driven life devoted to caring and providing for his children's well-being, safety, and education.
He is survived by five children - Matthew Kim of Alexandria, VA; An Sook Kelley and her husband, James Kelley of Glen Allen, VA; Holly D'Avanzo and her husband, John D'Avanzo of Fairfax, VA; Tara Roberts and her husband, James Roberts of
Austin, TX; and Alex Kim and his wife, Jennifer Yoon of Hong Kong.
He is also survived by five grandchildren who meant everything to him. They include Gabriella D'Avanzo, James Roberts, Natalia D'Avanzo, Miller Roberts, and James Kelley.
Mr. Kim is preceded in death by his parents, Yeon Soo Kim and Hee Im Min, as well as his many siblings.
The family will receive visitors at St. Paul Chong Catholic Church, 4712 Rippling Pond Drive, Fairfax, VA 22033, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am. Interment will be held at Bright View Cemetery, 8265 Lunsford Rd,
Warrenton, VA 20187.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Chong Catholic Church.
