Young Kim Obituary
12/16/1977 12/19/2023
Port Hueneme - Young Kim, 46, of Santa Maria and Port Hueneme passed away on December 19 from stage 4 HER-2 gastric cancer. Growing up, Young was a top basketball player in the area playing for Lakeview Jr. High and Righetti High School.
Young, a well-known and talented barber, also worked as a laboratory technician, corporate security contractor, transportation driver and sports retailer throughout the central coast.
Surrounded by family and friends, Young passed away peacefully at St. John's Hospital in Oxnard. He is survived by his father Pong, mother Jung, and brothers Kevin, Sam, and Rocky. A memorial service will be held on January 13 at 1:00pm at Element Christian Church in Santa Maria.

Young and I had history together and both sat at the very last row in the classroom. We always enjoyed our time together by cracking jokes and getting poor grades. We never talked about becoming barbers but that´s where life took us. I stayed in Northern California after serving in the United States Air Force. Everybody loved Young! He has the Best Name! Young was my friend all through school growing up. He was a great guy. every time they put us alphabetically, we were next to each other so we became friends. . I will miss talking to him on social media. RIP my friend

Young was really shy and quiet until you got to know him. Young would always let me wear his parka jacket in Jr. High, when I was cold, even if that meant he was cold. He was kind to everyone, compassionate and funny. He was an amazing individual and will be missed greatly. I´m so sorry for your loss.
