Yuen Ping Wu passed away the morning of January 9, 2022 at home, just days short of her 97th birthday. She was predeceased by her husband, Fook Shing Ho. She is survived by her daughter, Wai Ying "Carol" Shek (Tak Chun), and her grandchildren Anthony Shek, Andorra Fields (Michael), Angela Heard (Timothy), and Anita Shek (Ian Thomas).

Yuen Ping was born in 1926 in Hong Kong and moved to the United States with her husband in 1980 to be with her daughter for the birth of her 4th grandchild. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, caretaker, and friend. She loved to cook, laugh, and share dim sum and dinners with family and friends. She was the keeper of recipes and evolved them into precious family traditions. She was our family's secret recipe. She cared greatly for her family, her friends, and God.

Yuen's graveside service will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at noon at Mt. Hope Cemetery (1133 Mt. Hope Ave, Rochester, NY 14620), followed by a memorial service on Saturday, January 15 2022 at 5:00pm at Rochester Chinese Christian Church (1524 Jackson Rd, Penfield, NY 14526). In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Rochester Chinese Christian Church. You can send a check by mail with Yuen Ping Wu in the memo, or donate online.
