Yvonne Marie Lognion

Yvonne Marie Lognion, age 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25, 2025. She was born on July 3, 1952, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where she lived much of her life.

Yvonne was a proud graduate of LaGrange Senior High School, class of 1970, and spent many years working at Northrop Grumman. She was a fiery and vibrant spirit who loved to dance, eat Cajun food, and spend time with her grandchildren. She was the life of the party, and her presence was always felt—if Yvonne was there, you knew it.

She is survived by her daughters, Kendra Gates (husband Robert Gates) and Monica Lognion (husband Aaron Hughes); and her grandchildren, Noah Gates, Nicolas Hughes, and Dylan Hughes. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard Motte and Larry Motte.

A funeral service will be held in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where Yvonne will be laid to rest. Flowers may be sent to Johnson Funeral Home, and the family kindly requests that donations be made via GoFundMe (see link below) to support funeral expenses.

Yvonne’s love, energy, and laughter will be missed more than words can express.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 4, 2025 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel in Lake Charles, LA. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Sunday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Monday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
