Obituary of Yvonne Nicoletti
On Friday, February 10, 2023, Yvonne Cesaraina Nicoletti, 46, of Kingfield, Maine, born
October 22, 1976, in Methuen, MA, to A.D. and Rochelle Nicoletti, has passed away after a two-
year battle with cervical cancer.
Yvonne Nicoletti, better known to the world as Lexa Vonn, former singer for Ophelia Rising,
musician, fashion designer, model, writer, journalist, activist, promoter, photographer, multi-
media artist, social media personality, honorary member of the ACLU, and sub-cultural historian,
passed away surrounded by friends in York, Maine.
Lexa was a long-time resident of Los Angeles, California, where she worked in the music
industry for over 20 years before moving back to the East Coast. She has worked and performed
with members of Blondie, the Cramps, Hedcat, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Guns-n-Roses, Nina Hagen,
Walter Lure, Pamela Des Barres, KRS-1, the Mentors, and Johnny Indovina of Human Drama.
She made the Boston Coalition Freedom of Expression's 1995-1996 Hero's List for her work
alongside David Geffen, White Zombie, and the American Civil Liberties Union defending First
Amendment and Civil Rights for students throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Lexa Vonn self-published two books: Girls Guide to Hitchhiking and Letters from Wasteland,
and released one EP with her band, Ophelia Rising, Step One Acknowledge You Were Part of the
System, produced by legendary Punk Producer Geza X (Black Flag & Dead Kennedys). She was an active member and commentator of GenX, Punk, Hard Core, Goth, Heavy Metal, Glam Rock, and Underground Art.
In 2012, Lexa appeared in the critically acclaimed independent rock documentary Road
Dogs produced by Shane Acquino that premiered at the l'Etrange Festival in Paris, France, of
which she was also a guest host and speaker.
Lexa was a business owner of a fashion line called Lexa Vonn Collection and curator of extensive
music memorabilia, fashion, and pop art collection of well-known artists from the 1960s through
the 2000s.
