Yvonne Thibodeaux Simon

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Matthews Funeral Home in Gueydan, LA for Ms. Yvonne Thibodeaux Simon, 84, who passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025, in her home in Abbeville, LA.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the Matthews Funeral Home in Gueydan, LA from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary recited at 6:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the time of her service at 1:00 PM.
Father Stephen Irudayasamy will be officiating her service and internment will follow in the Gueydan Cemetery.
Ms. Yvonne was born in Morse, LA on March 6, 1941, to the late Mr. Cosby Thibodeaux and Mrs. Maire Louis Simon of Morse, LA. She worked as a cashier in food service for many years. She loved to cook, play bingo and visit with her family and friends. She had a special place in her heart for her children and grandchildren, as they brought her much joy. A beloved mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Yvonne is survived by her sons, Elroi Simon (Tracy) of Abbeville, LA and Tyron Simon (Paula) of Burleson, TX; brothers, Robert Thibodeaux (Leisa) of Morse, LA and Brian Breaux (Becky) of Midland, LA; her nine grandchildren, Heather Garcia, Holly Witt, Heath Simon, Destiny Istre, Destin Simon, Hannah Chastant, Cailyn Hebert, Cameron Simon and Jackson Simon as well as sixteen great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Herman George Simon; her parents, Cosby Thibodeaux and Marie Louis Simon; her sons, Elrod Simon and Byron Simon.
Pallbearers chosen to carry Ms. Yvonne to her place of rest will be Heath Simon, Destin Simon, Cameron Simon, Jackson Simon, Gavin Simon and Sonny Garcia.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the office staff, nurses and Dr. Danielle Fuselier of The Family Clinic of Crowley.
