In loving memory of Zeena Donetta Brown, whose bright spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Zeena passed away on December 2, 2025, at the tender age of nine, after bravely battling cancer for many years.
Born on May 1, 2016, to her loving parents Charles and Radhi "Rekha" Brown, Zeena was the heart and "glue" that held her family together. Her life, though brief, was filled with joy, laughter, remarkable strength, and a phenomenal love for Jesus. Zeena helped her family to draw nearer to Christ.
Zeena possessed a wonderful sense of humor and loved telling jokes. She was exceptionally bright, demonstrating an aptitude for language and spelling, even with complex anatomy words. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, with favorite foods including her dad's pizza, french fries, and Idli(an Indian dish). Her favorite TV shows were Bluey and Superbook. Physically active and full of energy, she loved jumping on trampolines, playing tag, and was a naturally gifted long-distance runner.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her favorite singer was Katy Nichole, and she loved her song "In Jesus Name." Zeena's unwavering belief was exemplified by her determination to be baptized. Despite losing her mobility and ability to speak, communicating only through hand signals and saying "mom," she clearly and miraculously stated, "I want to get baptized," encouraging her parents to fulfill her wish.
Zeena's legacy of love and resilience is carried on by her parents, Charles and Rekha; her sister, Sephora; her brother, Selvaratnam (Selva); her grandparents, Selvaratnam and Srikanthi Kanagaratnam, and Charles and Donetta Brown; her great-grandmother, Carolyn Parker; and a host of adoring aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in their hearts.
