Zelda Dean Moore

Zelda Dean Moore January 28, 1947 – August 5, 2025 Zelda Dean Moore, of Roswell, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 5, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on January 28, 1947, Zelda lived a life full of love, family, and quiet joys. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Toby Hopper, and her precious great-grandson, Baby J. Zelda is lovingly remembered by her siblings, her daughters Joy Cortijo, Barbara (and husband Richard Douglas), and Kellie Hopper (and husband Louie Scott), and her son Dearl Hopper (and wife Wendy Hopper). She was a proud grandmother to Jason, Mandy, and Donald Lilly; Ashlee and Chelsea Hawthorne; and Dee'Anna and Brian Douglas. Her legacy continues through 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Zelda found joy in life's simple pleasures-spending time with her grandchildren, caring for her beloved pet cats, tending to her cactus plants, getting lost in a good book, and savoring a vanilla milkshake. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her spunky attitude, wonderful sense of humor, and her love for her family. A private memorial service will be held in her honor by the family at home on Thursday, August 7th, from 12:00–1:00 PM.
