Zetta Dial Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Oak Ridge Funeral Care - Winter Haven on Mar. 18, 2026.
Zetta M. Dial, 93, of Winter Haven, passed away Friday, March 13, 2026, at her home of sixty years. A native of Logan, WV, Zetta moved to the local area in 1962. She was a proud member of the Church of God denomination, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Alongside her husband, Marvin, she worked in the Children's Bus Ministry and led the Children's Church for many years. She was an inspiration to many young children and couples; notably, one couple even named their daughter Zetta as a tribute to her loving nature.

For many years in the Lake Elbert area, she raised money for the March of Dimes. She also volunteered at Lake Elbert Elementary, Jewett, and Northeast Junior High schools, helping countless students improve their reading development. Additionally, she devoted her time to the Grovemont Nursing Center, visiting weekly.

Zetta was blessed to have numerous loving caregivers over the years. Mary, Fran, and Doreen are a special group of caring women who provided her with comfort. Professionally, she was employed by Southern Guarantee Corporation and Dial & Associates. She loved to work, but more than work, she loved her four children and the rest of her family. She dedicated her life to being a wonderful wife and mother and to helping others. The world needs more people like Zetta, and Heaven is surely happy to see her clapping to gospel music.

Zetta was preceded in death by her loving husband of 73 years, Marvin J. Dial; her son, Steven J. Dial; and her parents, Ralph and Marvell Winters. She is survived by her son, Marvin R. Dial; her daughter, Debbie Geer (Russell); her son, John W. Dial (Beth); her sister, Linda Gilpin (Tom); eleven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 23rd, from 1:30–2:00 pm, followed by funeral services at 2:00pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven, FL 33881. Zetta M. Dial will be laid to rest at Rolling Hills Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale, FL.
