Zimmie "Buck" Cranford

Mr. Zimmie "Buck" Colin Cranford, 96, went home to be with the Lord with his family by his side on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Monday, November 24, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle Church in Salisbury. Rev. Steve Holshouser, Rev. Roland Mills, Mr. Chip Graham, and Rev. Chuck Peters will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11:30 to 12:45 pm Monday at the church.

Buck was born July 30, 1929 in Troy, NC. He was a son of the late Rev. Augustus Beauregard Cranford and Effie Moore Cranford. He retired from Rives Motor Company in Salisbury where he was a Sales Manager. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle Church, where he was active in all phases of the church. He has an honorary PhD from Piedmont Bible College and was a honorary Chaplain with the Rowan County Sheriff's Department. Buck was very loved by all that knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Bame Cranford; three children, Jon Mark Henrickson, Cheryl Henrickson and Buddy Cranford; four sisters, Rachel Cranford, Mary Miller, Dorothy Schenck and Goldia C. Cruse; and two brothers, Jessie Cranford and William J. Cranford.

Buck is survived by six children, Perry Dean Henrickson (Shirley), Tamara Loggins (Wesley), Phillip Cranford (Jesa), Sarah Stosen, Tammy Caldwell (Alan) and Deborah Long (Mike); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
