Amy Ann Aldridge
1951 - 2021
On January 8, 2021, Amy Ann Aldridge passed away after a brief illness and hospital stay. Amy was born in St. Helena on March 13, 1951.
Amy is survived by her loving daughter Emily Aldridge McClain, son-in-law Terry McClain, and beautiful grandson Tye. Amy, aka Nana, often beamed with happiness when talking about each of them. Amy is also survived by her siblings: sister Marie Angele Lewis Hayashi of Los Angeles CA, Patrick Ahern Lewis (Nancy) of Brentwood CA, and Andrew A. Lewis (Margie) of Napa CA.
Amy is also survived by her loving cousins: Alston Ahern, Nancy Ahern, Michelle Ahern, James Lewis (Georgia), nieces Hilary Spannagel (John), Katherine Bjerke (Jeb), Jody Saunders (Kyle), nephews Kenneth Hayashi (Susana) Micheal P. Lewis (Esther), Timothy C. Lewis (Jo Erin), Benjamin A. Lewis, and Andrew P. Lewis (Krista). Amy will be sadly missed by her life long best friends Lisa Rowan, Therese Peterson and Shauna Ramirez. She is predeceased by her grandparents Albert Michael and Eulalie F. Ahern, parents Tom M. Lewis and Alston Ahern Lewis Horrocks, brother Thomas Musgrave Lewis, cousin Charlene Ahern, and nephew John "Jack" Francis Gordon Lewis.
Amy is also survived by children born from her ex-husband's second marriage, Wayne Aldridge. Though not her own children, she loved, cared and respected each of them: Saira Liden (Johnny) and family Angela, Alex and Eli, Jesse Boling, Peter Wirtz, Daniel Wirtz and Nathanial Wirtz (Katie).
Amy Ann was raised in Napa and was a proud member of her graduating class of St. Apollinaris Elementary School. Amy graduated from St. Vincent HS in Vallejo, then attended Napa Valley College where she graduated from nursing school after much hard work. Amy loved helping others in need and spent a majority of her Registered Nursing career as a dedicated dialysis nurse. Amy had an amazing way of easing her patients with her warm smile, honesty and skilled hands. She was highly respected in the field, and would come home every holiday with so many thoughtful gifts from her devoted and grateful patients.
Amy was a hard working, dedicated single mother to Emily and doting Nana to Tye. Some of her proudest moments in life were the birth of her daughter Emily, the union of Emily and her beloved son-in-law Terry, and the birth of her cherished grandson Tye. After retiring from her career as an RN, she gladly spent her time playing with and watching her grandson and proudly attending school plays with her family. She loved her annual Maui trips with her family where she was entertained by her brothers and sister with stories of growing up. Later in years she was thrilled to be able to enjoy these same Maui trips with her 'trio of love', Emily, Terry and Tye.
Amy had a tremendous sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and loved spending time with her large family, especially at Thanksgiving. All who joined the feast knew they could count on her famous green jello as a side dish, as well as the best stuffing, gravy and turkey prepared by herself, mother, and sister each year.
The world has lost a beautiful soul with Amy's passing. All who were lucky enough to hear her laughter and share in her happiness will forever be grateful. The family will hold a graveside vigil at St Helena Holy Cross Cemetery at a future date.

Yes, I´ve worked with Amy in Vallejo for years. I do remember those moments of seriousness at work and laughters on break time. She was easy to get along with. It´s been three years since she passed but her memories are never passed.

It was a pleasure to work with Amy at St. Helena Hospital when I was a new grad nurse. She taught with firm but compassionate leadership and I was grateful for her generous guidance.
My sincere condolences to her family and friends.

What a beautifully written tribute to Amy. She will be sorely missed by so many. Her humor and laughter were always a welcome interjection to this crazy sometimes trying world. I will never forget her stepping up as my maid of honor when mine didn´t make it. Always a joy to be around. I have great memories when we were young that will always bring a smile and chuckle to me. I send my deepest condolences and love.

I´ve worked with her in dialysis. She was indeed very nice to work with. Working with her makes the day go by quick and easy. She was a hard worker. Despite of hard work, we can joke, smile and laugh. Her purpose in life is done, may she Rest In Peace. My prayers with the family
