Carolyn Diane Becker
1953 - 2021
On Sunday, July 11th, 2021 we tearfully said goodbye to Carolyn Diane Becker at the age of 67.
Carolyn bravely battled ovarian cancer for four years before passing at her home in Clark County, Washington. Carolyn spent her last moments in the loving arms of her devoted husband David and holding the hand of her son Jeremy. Carolyn is a beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, grandmother and friend.
Carolyn was born on October 27th, 1953 in Vancouver, Washington. She relocated to Napa California with her parents Carol and Vance Tourville in 1963 where she spent the majority of her childhood and attended Napa High School. She moved back to Vancouver in 1979, where she met the love of her life David R. Becker shortly after returning and remained inseparable until passing.
Carolyn had many interests and hobbies. She loved to make wedding dresses and formal dance dresses for family and friends. Carolyn is known for being fashion forward with a love, if not obsession for beautiful shoes. Carolyn always put her best foot forward, everyday.
Carolyn loved designing and landscaping her 20 plus acre yard. During the spring and summer months Carolyn would often pass the time by visiting various nursery's and bringing home beautiful varieties of plants and trees. She would spend countless hours trimming the landscape on her lawnmower with her Burmese Mountain dog Bentley sitting shotgun.
Carolyn loved to travel with her husband David and they did so frequently. From cruises to Alaska and airplanes to Hawaii, to yearly RV trips to Yellowstone and countless escapes to Disneyland.
Carolyn always made the holidays extra special. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she would spend a solid month bringing the Christmas spirit into her home, inside and out. It wasn't uncommon to see her on a very tall ladder decorating her 14' tree or outside bundled up hanging lights on her trees and home.
She is survived by her loving husband David Becker Jr, her son Jeremy and daughter-in-law Brooke Becker and stepdaughter Maria Weitz, Son-in-Law Jack Weitz grandchildren Leif, Gage and Oliver. Her mother Carol Tourville, her sisters Madonna Cochran, Roberta Bernhardt and Debra Jarrell and two brothers, Sam and Brian Tourville and their spouses. She will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and her faithful dog Bentley and her two cats Naughty and Nice.
Carolyn had a special request that all attendees to her service and Celebration of Life wear brighter colors. Service to be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 14809 NE 259th Street Battle Ground, WA 98604 on Wednesday, July 21st at 2:00 pm. Flowers should also be sent to this address. Carolyn loved flowers.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Alderbrook Park after the service at 4:00. All are welcome.
