Colin Raymond Shelton
1944 - 2021
Colin Raymond Shelton was born February 18, 1944 in Ipswich, England, at age 77 on July 30, 2021 passed away peacefully in his home in Yountville, California. The oldest of three boys Colin grew up on the coast of Ipswich, England and graduated with honors in structural engineering from Loughborough University, England in 1966.
He met Selma Malcolm in Edinburgh Scotland and they were married 6 months later in North Berwick, Scotland. They lived in the highlands of Scotland for a year and then emigrated to Toronto, Canada where his two daughters were born. He refurbished a school bus and traveled throughout the United States with his family before calling Napa Valley, California his home for the past 40 years.
Colin loved to sing, as a choir boy when he was a child, later a member of the barbershop quartet, and karaoke. He loved the company of others and he enjoyed a good joke, trains, bridges, a sudoku, puzzles, chocolate eclairs and of course a good ol'cuppa of tea.
He is predeceased by his younger brother David Shelton of Cranleigh, England and his parents Ray and May Shelton of Reading, England. He is survived by wife of 53 years Selma Shelton of Yountville, his beloved companion Rabbi, his brother Mik Shelton of Surrey, England and his two daughters Fiona Shelton and Kirsty Shelton and four grandchildren Joshua Crist-Shelton, Zoe Montelongo, Zachary Montelongo, and Gage Gerosa of Napa, California.
Please join his family and friends to celebrate his life Sunday, August 29th at 2 pm at the Rancho De Napa Clubhouse located at 6468 Washington Street, Yountville, California or livestream at https://facebook.com/events/s/colin-sheltons-memorial/595873574916072/
In lieu of flowers please donate to the Collabria Care and Hospice of Napa Valley as they were a blessing in his last years.
