David L. Wilson

1958 - 2020

One of the few advantages of dying from Stage IV Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer, is you have time to write your own obituary (The other advantages are no longer worrying about my hair and cholesterol).

I was born in Napa on July 22, 1958 at Queen of the Valley Hospital. I grew up in Napa/Yountville attending Phillips Elementary, Silverado Junior High and graduating from Napa High School. I was a long time Napa resident before moving to Fairfield later in life.

My professional life was spent in the wine industry since the late 70's. I had the pleasure of working with many wonderful people during those years, all of whom I owe thanks for the opportunity to do a job I truly loved.

I want to thank my loving wife Jackie for always being there with me through this journey (you were my rock) I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful person to share my life with. I love you.

Thank you to my children Whitney, Julie, Nick, Jordan who always tried to keep me upbeat. To my grandkids Tristan, Makayla, Caden, Elayne, and Maverick you all mean the world to me. To my beautiful loving mother for your continued faith and prayers of encouragement in wanting me to beat this cancer. To my sister Patty and brother Rick, thanks for all the childhood memories, good and bad. I love you all so much.

A huge thank you to my wonderful friend Steve for spending so much time keeping me company with our long phone conversations this year. Your friendship meant the world to me.

I loved being outdoors, concerts, car shows, finding the next great beer pub, garage sales, antiquing, hiking, biking, camping, fishing, and hanging out with my grandkids, air shows, and volunteering at Travis Air Force Base on the preservation team,

David's fight with cancer came to an end before finishing this. His words are few, but we love that he was able to write them down. David is preceded in death by his father Charles and sister Diana.
