Kathie Elaine Karcher
1951 - 2021
Kathie Elaine Karcher passed peacefully into her Savior's arms on Friday November 12, 2021.
Kathie was born September 11, 1951 in Aberdeen, WA. As a child she moved over 40 times and would often point out old houses on road trips. She loved her family fiercely, and was always an advocate for her children and others.
On April 13, 1969 Kathie married the one and only love of her life, Les. Together they built a home and family, raising 4 daughters in Napa. Kathie always wanted a house full of children and in the late 1980's started working as a foster parent. She gave shelter and love to over 100 children in the 17 years of opening her home.
In 2004 Kathie decided to pursue her lifelong goal of graduating with a college degree. She earned her bachelor's of science in human services, and her masters degree in psychology. With her degrees and experience, she worked for the Parent Project in Napa, continuing on her journey of advocating for children.
Kathie is survived by her husband of 52 years, Les, daughters Connie (Steven) Hamilton, Katie (Jeff) Breazeale, Melanie (Chris) Riley, and Brittany. She also has 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Maxine Bishop, her sister Emma, and her babies she never got to meet.
The family will have a private event to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association in her memory.
