Kenneth Steve Ginoulis, 88, passed away peacefully at home on April 19, 2024, following declining health issues. Ken was born to Steve Ginoulis and Elizabeth Stephn Ginoulis in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 20, 1935.
When Ken was 10 years old, his father died in an accident, so he began working to help his mother. He worked for the Sotor family doing odd jobs and then sales, where he sold the first RCA colored TV in Salt Lake City. He graduated from West High School and enlisted in the Army and was sent to Fort Mammoth, New Jersey, where he learned about radar systems. He was then stationed in Chicago when he met Judy Beierwaltes. After his time in the service, they reconnected and married in 1959, living in Salt Lake City. Ken started working for Silver Steel as a purchasing agent. His work took the family to Denver and on to California with Kaiser Steel. They were blessed with four daughters Mary, Kimberly, Julie, and Stephanie. The marriage ended with the couple's divorce.
In 1975 Ken met Marilee Wright and dated for many years. When Ken was working for Trident Supply as a Sale Rep, he moved to Lodi, where Marilee joined him and they were married in 1994. The couple loved to explore. They traveled all over the western US on his Gold Wing motorcycle. After Ken's heart attack, they traveled in their 5th wheel RV and joined the Lodi Silver Bells, a Good Sam RV chapter. Ken was the Northern California Good Sam State Director for 6 years. He was a free spirit and loved seeing new places. They traveled throughout Europe (including Greece where his relatives were from) and China. He had many hobbies including making wine, gardening, and grill master. He loved to sing and had a good voice - however he never remembered ALL the words to the songs he sang; especially his favorite ones like Wand'rin' Star and St. James Infirmary.
Ken and Marilee were active at
The Salvation Army. For several years, the Advisory Board sponsored a monthly Tri-Tip dinner at the Shelter, where Ken would do the cooking - which he really enjoyed.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; brother Charlie; his sisters, Chrys, Betty and Marie; and his daughter Kimberly. He is survived by his wife, Marilee; daughters, Mary, Julie and Stephanie; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life is being held on July 13, 2024, 11:00 AM, at Grace Point Church, 801 Lower Sacramento Road, in the Ambassador Room.
