Norma Lemmons Obituary

Wife, Mother, Yaya (Grandmother), Sister, Friend. All titles earned by Norma Sue Lemmons throughout her life. Sue passed away on August 20, 2025, following a six-year cancer battle. She was 79-years-old. Sue's greatest joy was her family, and she is survived by her husband Don, daughter Dawnelle, sons-in-law Dave (married to Dawnelle) and Mike (formerly married to daughter Dana, deceased), grandchildren Sabrina, Luke, Macy, Libby and David.

Born in Aida, Oklahoma, Sue and her family moved to Napa in 1955. Her versatile talents, strong work ethic, friendly demeanor and trademark wit were showcased while attending Napa High School. She met Don at a high school party, and the couple married on their birthdays on February 1,1964. Her professional career began as a seamstress, and rapidly progressed to becoming a store manager and buyer in multiple retail establishments. Upon having children, Sue transitioned to a dedicated and loving stay-at-home mom, which she always considered her greatest achievement. After her daughters were grown, she revived her career with multiple positions in finance, property and non-profit management.

Sue lived her life driven by deep faith, honesty, integrity and unconditional love. She consistently challenged those she loved to be the best they could be, based on how God made them. She was always a shining example of strength, compassion, resilience, patience and good humor. An amazing cook, she proudly kept loved ones happily fed for over sixty years, with particular joy extended to sharing meals and special times with her cherished grandchildren. Even while fighting illness in her later years, she prioritized time with her grandkids, developing strong relationships filled with trust, care, laughter and a healthy dose of "you know who loves you?".

Sue remains treasured by family and friends alike, and will be profoundly missed. Her great faith assures that her journey has not ended, and has now taken her to a place where she can experience God's full and forever presence, and a much-anticipated reunion with her beloved daughter, Dana.

"Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another." ~1 John 4:11
