Ronald Rae Obituary

Ron was a patriotic baby, born on the 4th of July 1937 to Ann and Clinton Rae, the second of five boys, in Oakland, CA. Ron attended schools in the area, graduating from Berkeley High school. Ron served in the US Army. He worked as a mechanic most of his life, but in the early years of his working life he also owned a gas station. He started Ron's Supplies and Repair in May 1979 and retired in 1999.

Ron was married to Carolyn Kyle and they had three sons together, Mark, Brian and Paul.

Later, Ron married Linda Redford Blessing on July 24, 1975. They were married for 50 years. Ron was welcomed into Linda's extended family, including fun holiday gatherings. Ron and Linda hosted big family Thanksgiving dinners for many years. Camping was a big part of their married life. They started out with a camper, taking their blended family on many trips to the ocean and rivers of California. As time went on the trailers got bigger and they traveled farther even making a trip around the US.They traveled by river boat on the Mississippi and the Missouri rivers. Ron and Linda bowled in the Guys N Gals league at Napa Bowl and square danced with the Boots and Belle's. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge, SIR Branch 149 and Roving Roosters.

Ron was predeceased by his parents and and his four brothers, Rick, John, Charlie and Gary Rae and step-son Leslie Blessing. He will be greatly missed by his wife Linda, sons Mark (Charlene), Brian, and Paul Rae and step daughter Laura Blessing. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, as well as his sister and brother-in-law Carol and Mike Blessing and many friends. During his battle with cancer, his oldest son Mark and step-daughter Laura were a big help to Ron and Linda.

There will be a private graveside service. Ronald Eugene Rae
