Veronica Garza Obituary
Veronica Rose Garza (1941-2024)
A warm smile, home, a woman all could call Mom, she'd welcome you with arms wide open, and a plate to fill your tummy. Veronica Rose Garza, 82, of American Canyon, California, passed away at home in her sleep on the morning of Friday, July 12th. Born in 1941 in Trinidad Colorado to Juan Bautista Bueno, and Maria Magdalena Arguello. Veronica would always reminisce about her father, and how she missed him oh so much. Her mother passing at a very young age, she spent a majority of her life knowing her step mother Margie Bueno as her own, whom she also cherished. Her youth was filled with the love, and nurturing of her many brothers, and sisters. A story that began in Colorado, and lead to a journey west to California, where she would spend the rest of her amazing life.
California, where she would meet her husband, and the love of her life, Victor Antonio Garza Senior. After only knowing each other a matter of weeks they would commit to each other through marriage for an amazing 57 years. Through tough times, and great times, they were always their only one true dance partner, making the most of every moment, and building a foundation of love, strength, and togetherness that they would pass onto their children. Those children, Julie Schultz, Leon Thomas, John Thomas, Michael Thomas, Tammy Garza, Doni Garza, Shannon Garza, Victor Garza Junior, Manuel Garza, and Alejandro Garza, each and every one carry a special piece of her inside of them. Gifts that can be seen in the their eyes, smiles, and faces. Her children were her most prized treasures. She loved them with every bit of her heart, and soul. Love so much, that those very children would go onto to reward her with 31 grandchildren, whom would go on to give her 46 great grandchildren with 1 on the way, another treasure she would celebrate with every breath she had.
Veronica all through her life loved crafts. Always finding new ways to create beautiful gifts for all the people around her. Most recently she loved her jewelry, making it, buying it, and sharing it with anyone who wanted to share her passion. Aside from her crafts, she always loved her pets. Georgia, a fun loving poodle, she and Victor cared for for 16 years. Chewie her latest little chihuahua, was the apple of her eye with his curious little face, Victor will continue to look after.
Veronica was always a hard worker her whole life, not only for her family, but for the many jobs she would take. A master cook, there was no one better, a trait she passed onto all of her children. There wasn't a dish that she couldn't make, and bellies around her were always satisfied. Her delicious dishes will forever be missed by all whom had the privilege of enjoying.
In Veronica's years she had to say farewell to two of her children, Michael Thomas, at the age of 58, and Manuel Garza, at 15 hours. The heartache never left her, but she persevered for those around her, always displaying the strength, and resilience that made her a true one of a kind.
There are no words that could ever accurately convey just what Veronica meant to all of those around her, who were blessed to know her, to have the honor of her love. More than a mother, more than a wife, more than a sister, and a friend, Veronica Rose Garza was a timeless treasure, she will be missed. As she would always say, "Love you more, and God bless you."
