Barbara Labelle Obituary

Labelle, Barbara Lynn Age 59, a resident of Aurora, IL. Barbara was born June 24, 1952 in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. After another active summer of golf with her friends and a fall vacation with Gerry to the Hawaiian Islands, an unexpected illness occurred. On Sunday, December 11, 2011 after a bravely fought battle, Barbara peacefully passed away surrounded by her family. Barbara is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 40 years, Gerry; her devoted daughters, Lindsay (Ricardo, Jr.) Ramirez and Ashley (SSgt Timothy, USMC) Lynch; her cherished grand-daughter, Sophia Ramirez; her dear brother, Jim (Lilian) Nelson and sister, Bet (Bill) Dickson; and her beloved mother-in-law, Francoise Labelle. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Isabel Nelson, and her father-in-law, John Oswald Labelle. Barbara enjoyed the game of golf for many years and was a keen member of the MFKL Golf League. She had a passion for travel and was able to explore the world as a travel consultant for over 25 years. She enjoyed her many trips throughout the U.S., Europe and the Caribbean with her family. She was an excellent cook and baker, loved to entertain and give of her time and creations. For those who would like to leave a lasting tribute to Barbara's life, memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Edward Foundation for the Edward Cancer Center. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, December 14, 5:00 PM until the celebration of her life begins at 7:30 PM at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S Mill St, Naperville with the Chaplain Connie Stone officiating. I have great memories of spending time with the Labelle family in Cambridge, Kirkland Lake, Port Elgin and Burlington. You were all greatly missed when you made the move to Illinois - I've thought of you often.

I'm saddened to hear about the loss of Barb. I'll always remember her heartwarming smile and laugh.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Labelle Family during this very difficult time.
