Dennis P. Kozlowski, age 80, a longtime resident of Plainfield, IL, formerly of Woodridge, Lisle, and Naperville, IL, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023, at his home. He was born on December 3, 1942, in Chicago.

Beloved husband of Jimita Adela Kozlowski (nee Baratta), whom he married on June 13, 1964, loving father of Kim (Jim) Degnan of Naperville and Karyn (Steve) Stephens-Randazzo of Naperville, adored Papa of Michael Degnan, Shannon (Kyle) Boes, Jennifer and Matthew Degnan; Sydney, Courtney, Jackson and Weston Stephens and Anthony Randazzo, devoted son of the late Peter F. and Lucille (nee Koprowski) Kozlowski, brother-in-law of Dolores Baratta and the late James (Cheryl) Baratta, cousin, uncle, great-uncle and friend of many.

Dennis grew up on Chicago's West Side, attended Blessed Sacrament Grade School, and was a 1960 graduate of St. Patrick High School, where he excelled on the basketball team. He attended Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN, where he played basketball and received a degree in Electrical Engineering. Dennis later earned an MBA from Loyola University in Chicago. He was employed by Corn Products in Summit, IL, and later with Keebler Foods Company in Elmhurst, IL, for over 30 years, retiring as a Vice President.

Dennis had a lifetime love of basketball. Besides being an active alum at St. Patrick High School and Christian Brothers College, he loved coaching at St. Joan of Arc School in Lisle many years ago. Recently, he was honored to be inducted for his basketball achievements into the St. Patrick Hall of Fame.

Dennis was a parishioner of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Plainfield and was a former parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Lisle, where he participated in many activities, including ushering mass. Dennis was an avid 16-inch softball player, golfer, and boater, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife and family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023, 8:30 - 10:00 AM at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Rd., Plainfield.

Services will begin Monday, 10:00 AM from the funeral home and will proceed to a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 Illinois Route 59, Plainfield.

The celebration of Dennis's life will follow the funeral on Monday, 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Rockstars Garage, 10127 Mandel St., Plainfield, IL 60585, (630) 209-9788.

Future inurnment: Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton, IL.

This lost a previous long and humorous message especially about our "working" 3 summers at 12th Street Beach where our daily stunts and laughs each day managed to surpass what we did on previous days.
Our labors in the sun were encouraged by many beauties there, including our beauty queen Marite Ozers who became Ms. America and the runner-up to Ms. World. Of course, Dennis could not be tempted since he already had found the love of his life and eventual wife. It also included lifeguard captains Jay Emerick, later the "king of Rush Street" and owner of the biggest and best singles bar (Faces) in America; and Jimbo Messineo, who would taunt opposing teams that helped our 12th Stree tea each year win the CPD eaches Softball Championships -- which Dennis of course contributed to on and off the field Sorry to see you leave us so soon, Dennis, and hope that you did not suffer to much or too long at the end. Thanks for the great times and memories. You were a special one, even as the "junior beach attendant"
