Kevin O'Connor Obituary

Kevin J. O'Connor, age 78, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1978, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born on November 28, 1945, in Chicago.

Beloved husband of Mary Jo O'Connor (nee Kuchenbecker), whom he married on October 17, 1970, loving father of Maggie O'Connor and Kevin (Amanda) O'Connor, both of Naperville, adored grandfather of Kennedy (13) and Aiden (12) O'Connor, devoted son of the late John J. and Jeanne (nee McGinley) O'Connor, dear brother of Roderick (Mary Fran) O'Connor, Deirdre (Lazo) Perroy, Connell O'Connor, Kerry Jeanne (John) Motzny, the late Rory (the late Patricia) O'Connor and the late Sean O'Connor, fond brother-in-law, cousin, uncle, great-uncle and friend of many. Kevin will be missed by his Granddog, Cole.

Kevin grew up on Chicago's North Side, attended Fenwick High School and graduated from John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH with a BA in English.

Kevin worked for many years in the automotive parts industry, beginning his career with Champion Parts in Oak Brook, IL and later joining GO/DAN Industries, Inc. in New Haven, CT. Kevin went on to own and operate Automotive Parts Distribution International (APDI), LLC in Arlington, TX for many years with his partner, Lyman McWain.

Kevin was a longtime member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic

Church in Naperville and was active with the St. Vincent DePaul Society and the Transitional Housing program. He enjoyed skiing and racquetball (in his younger years), reading and trips to Arlington Park Racetrack.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2023, 4:00-8:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill Street, Naperville.

Services will begin Friday, January 5, 10:30 AM from the funeral home and will proceed to an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville.

Interment will follow at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Naperville.
