Lawrence P. Dobberstein Lawrence P. "Papa" Dobberstein, age 78 of Naperville, formerly of Chicago, peacefully passed away Monday, August 10, 2009 at Edward Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born August 30th 1930, in Chicago to his loving parents, the late Paul and Margaret Dobberstein. Beloved husband of Marie, (nee Edwards) wedded 55 years; cherished father of Scott Dobberstein, Donald (Jennifer) Dobberstein, the late Paula (Glen) Sorgatz, Pamela Stella, Peter (Theresa) Dobberstein, Margaret Westlove, Mary (George) McCormick, Joseph Dobberstein; loving Papa of Benjamin, Kenneth, and Carolyn Dobberstein, Gina Gargaro, Peter and Andrew Sorgatz, and Jacalyn Dobberstein, and Hannah and Emily Westlove and great-grandson, Gavin Dobberstein. Avid basketball and 16 inch softball player all of his life. "Where there is a net, there is Larry playing basketball." Larry had a love for his Chicago White Sox. Larry served his country in United States Army during the Korean War.
