Mary Springborn Obituary

Mary Jane Springborn (nee Schultz), age 90, went to Heaven to be with her beloved husband, Del, on Saturday, June 30, 2018. Mary Jane was born to Harvey and Lorene (nee Spinner) Schultz on April 3, 1928 on Center Street in Naperville. Her family has been in Naperville since 1837. Mary attended Hobson School and graduated from Naperville Community High School Class of 1946. Mary met her true love, Del, when they worked together at Western Electric. They were married at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Naperville on July 29, 1950. They had three daughters: Judy (Neil) Angerman of Branson, MO, Diane Walworth of Plainfield, IL and Sandy (Lee) Heeley of Naperville. Mary Jane was an active member of SS. Peter & Paul Church. She was a member of the Catholic Daughter's and enjoyed being chairman for the fashion shows. Mary Jane also was a room mom for her daughter's classrooms at SSPP. She had been a 4-H member of Lisle Opportunity and a 4-H leader for her daughters' Cheery 4-H club. Mary Jane was also a former Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed being in the Naperville Business Women's Association. Mary Jane had a lot of fun getting together with her former 1946 classmates on the second Tuesday of each month for lunches. Mary Jane was an avid traveler. She even climbed the Great Wall of China while in her 70's. Her favorite place was going to Cancun with Diane and Sandy. She spent her 89th birthday in Cancun and loved having the staff sing to her along with watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoy her favorite vacation spot. She traveled extensively and had many wonderful adventures to tell everyone. Mary Jane worked at Tasty Bakery in Naperville while in high school, then Western Electric until she got married. After having her three daughters, she stayed home raising them until they entered high school. She later worked at Mr. Value in downtown Naperville and then Scot, Inc. in Downers Grove, IL. She retired at the age of 75 and continued traveling. Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Adelbert "Del" Springborn; her parents, Harvey and Lorene (nee Spinner) Schultz; and her three siblings, June (the late Gerald) Rott, George (the late Nancy) Schultz and James (Peg) Schultz. Mary is survived by her three daughters, Judy (Neil) Angerman, Diane Walworth, and Sandy (Lee) Heeley. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Christina Walworth, Jason Heeley, Kelli Heeley, Steven (Stefny) Heeley, and Casey (fiancée, Kurt Siegmeyer) and seven great-grandchildren, a brother-in-law, Eugene (Shirley) Springborn and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 5, 2018, 4:00-8:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St, Naperville.
